Can Pregnant or Nursing Mothers get a spray tan? Frequently Asked Questions About Sunless Tanning

Can pregnant or nursing mothers get a Kona Tan?

In most cases it is safe to airbrush tan if you are pregnant or nursing. However, it is best to check with your doctor before tanning. The active ingredient (DHA) is proven not to enter the blood stream and has been used in cosmetics since 1960. No problems have ever been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin, or causing problems during pregnancy. We recommend nursing mothers wear adhesive petals or a bathing suit top while tanning. Nose filters and disposable undergarments are available upon request.

DHA sunless tanning has been recommended by The Skin Cancer Organization, American Academy of Dermatology, The American Cancer Society, The American Medical Society, and has been approved for cosmetic use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It has been used for over 30 years without any harmful effect.

NOTE: IT'S ALWAYS BEST TO CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO YOUR TANNING SESSION.
