What to do when your DOG licks your fresh spray tan or tanning lotion

It's happened to just about all routine spray tanners - you get a beautiful, even bronze at your favorite tanning studio, and then you see this slobbery creature coming at you...

...What can you do?

The first thing you can do is stand up.  Dog drool tends to flow downwards, so the higher you are, the less chance for exposure.  The second thing you can do is to cover up anywhere you got spray tanned.  Nothing special (unless you have a mega-drooler in the house!), just a layer of fabric between you and your pooch, like a long-sleeved T-shirt and yoga pants.

If it's too late, and you've already been licked, the best thing you can do is dab it dry - don't wipe it, or you'll smudge even more color.  Wait for the tan to continue with its development process, then shower as planned.  Once done, you'll be able to see if the lick stopped the tan's development or not.  If it did, we recommend a sunless tanning touch-up product, like the Kona Tanning Spritzer (1 oz, konatanningcompany.com).  The Spritzer's concentrated tanning solution can be used to fill in the area, and a dry, smooth cloth makes an excellent blending tool.  Use the cloth to blend the borders of the smudge, and you should be left with an even, beautiful sunless tan!
