Cate Blanchett Has A DIY Beauty Secret for Great Skin

Summer is the season for finding a good face scrub, but hunting down the right product can be tough. Or so Cate Blanchett says, which is why she whips up her own, homemade face scrub. The magic formula? A nutritious mix of oils, fruit juice and salt that gives her that glowing complexion.
“Olive and macadamia oils are really good for your complexion. Put one of them on in the shower and they make your skin zing,” Cate told the British edition of InStyle magazine. “I incorporate them into a homemade scrub with grapefruit juice and sea salt–a beauty trick taught to me by a friend of mine.”

At 43, the Benjamin Button star says her skin looks better than ever, and we have to say we agree. “I feel like my skin has looked its best in the past 10 years in terms of stability and how even it is, purely because I have maintained a good regime with amazing products,” Cate said. “And they have to work hard with all the abuse it gets, what with lack of sleep, my children and a busy schedule.”
Some of her favorite beauty products? Basically anything by Tom Ford.
“People always ask me who my beauty icon is–and it’s Tom Ford. He always looks superb and his make-up range is to die for.”
